Jay Nicholas Sario

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to a presentation put together by Jay Nicholas Sario. He gave us an inside look on his experience on Project Runway. He also talked about how he went to Honolulu Community college and ended up dropping out and moving to San Francisco. This man is so talented, his sketches were said to be up to par with those of students at Parsons-Tim Gunn. He said that the summer before his freshman year of high school in the Philippines, all he did was sketch. He ended up with over 800 sketches. He also made all of the prom dresses for girls at his school his junior and senior year. We also got a sneak peak at his Spring '11 collection that he will be showing in Portland sometime in October. I got up close and personal with his pieces, and man they were so well made. He inspired me to practice sketching even more. He is now trying to get his line produced and sold at a retailer. But he mentioned that he doesnt want to mass produce his pieces. He wants them to be cherished. I really wanted to buy that grey jacket off the dress form. I cant wait until his pieces are up for sale.

I wore this outfit about a month ago. I love the peter pan neckline on this floral top. I paired this bohemian top with these navy overalls and pink clogs. I chose pink to be unexpected. I mean, everyone has tan, brown, or black clogs. Be different. The major statement piece of this outfit is the necklace. It really attracts attention and I feel like the outfit would be kind of boring without it. I really want to bring back overalls. I love how they can be dressed down or chicly dressed up like this.

Chic Sweat Pants

My Claire's blog finally launched on Thursday! I'm so excited, check it out here. I've been putting a ton of work into it; hence, the lack of posts on here. Tell me what you think!
Anyways, I wore this outfit like two weeks go. But I finally got around to blogging about it. Stripes are in, and I like how this sweater's stripes vary in size. Sweat pants are definitely in right now. I like wearing them with a chic sweater or a button down. Its out of the box. I've seen this style in a ton of magazines, that's why it's on this inspiration board I made for the Nordstrom's Fashion Board earlier this month. These pants aren't technically sweat pants, they don't have insulation on the inside, but they give off the same feel. I paired this outfit with girly, lacey socks, oxfords, and a military green beanie. I like tucking all of my hair up into my beanies. To play with the military green, I added a bronze spikey necklace. It's in the whole military style. I've seen a bunch of necklaces with spikes and I absolutely love them.
My necklace resembles Silver's from 90210.

Military Bohemian Twist

These photos were taken at the Nordstrom Back to School fashion show a couple of weeks ago. I walked in Military & Lace and Bohemian. Then, I decided to put together my own look combining both of these styles.

Cargo pants are an essential piece in every girl's wardrobe this fall. I paired them with a fluttery deep burgundy top and paisley print button down. The flower bracelet definitely adds more of a bohemian vibe. I really want Steve Madden "Harllem" Combat Boots in Cognac, but theyre out of stock everywhere! They would really complete this outfit. If youre not feeling this clash of different styles, you can definitely keep it mainstream like the outfit in the fashion show. I like how it was simple, but combined elements of hard and soft like the beanie with the lace tank.

I bought these leggings in LA this past weekend, I love how theyre so destroyed. To balance out the edgyness, I paired it with a soft pink girly dress. I love the net necklace, very Rodarte. The headband and necklace add spme glitz. And to tie it all together, I wore fuchsia lipstick.

I wore this awesome dress to a sweet sixteen two weeks ago. I love how flowey it is. And this caramel color is really in right now. I got this dress from this Indian designer clothes distributer while in SF. She had a booth set up at this conference; its one of a kind.
Sorry for the lack of posts, Ive been extremely busy. The Claire's website launches on Friday, Im so excited.
Check me out in this fashion article!
