Now that you've seen my prom and graduation dresses....it would've made more sense if I wore this one to prom and vice versa but oh well! I fell in love with this dress's beading and embellishment. It's actually completely sheer and I had to wear a slip under. I can't wait to wear it again.
My mom clearly wanted to take more photos of my shoes rather than my face...

Today was my last day of high school eeeep. I thought I'd be super happy about it but I'm not. I'm not a kid anymore and it sucks! I was thinking back to what I wore on the first day of high school in 2008 and comparing it to what I wore today...what a transformation. I was into Hot Topic, colored denim, and other not refined or classy stuff. I unknowingly wore USC colors today and I didn't even notice until someone pointed it out to me.
I'm drifting away from high low hemlines but the draping on this skirt was just too fab not to post. I bought this in Santa Barbara and the LF store sale. It was originally a ghastly $148 and I ended up getting it for about $28.
This top is literally my favorite. I saw the one at American Apparel and was about to buy it but I noticed asos had a similar top on sale--so I just went with asos's. I'm definitely going to buy more and in different colors from American Apparel. This top goes with all of my high waisted skirts and doesn't turn into crap when I wash it once. Which is more than I can say for my Wildfox "I hate mornings" shirt...
And I know people are probably wondering why I dress up so much just for school. Everyday is an excuse to play dress up, that's my motto. Don't let that fab skirt just sit in your closet for months until it sees the light of day for some special occasion. I wear whatever I want. As long as it makes me happy, I'm satisfied. I didn't wear a prom appropriate dress to prom and I'm not wearing a graduation appropriate dress tomorrow either (when you see it, you'll be like, "Why didn't she wear the prom dress to graduation and vice versa?" Because I'm too cool for that duhhh!!!) #YOLO <- probably going to regret that obscene hash tag in like five seconds.

Title has to do with the fact that I went for an edgy, 90s inspired Britney Spears look (maybe slightly Lolita, even). High waisted, short skirts and crop tops are going to be my summer uniform. You may recognize the print on this top from a couple of posts ago, that is because I bought a matching top and skirt but I havent really worn them together yet. Speaking of matching stuff, I really like the idea of a pink suit. I've seen it on Naomi on and episode of 90210 last week and then Blair on this week's episode of Gossip Girl.
I threw a denim button down on top to make this a tad more school appropriate. I'm definitely going to be buying this skirt in denim for the summertime; corduroy is a bit too wintery.
You may notice that I'm a bunch of different shades of tan right now (my face is still pale as hell though) due to my experimentation with bronzing lotion. I'm naturally tan but I can get sort of pale so I'm trying to find the best product that makes girls with my skin tone look more golden.
This necklace is a great touch to a lot of my outfits, I've been wearing it a lot lately. On another note, commenting has been enabled again! I disabled it because I didn't care to know what people hiding behind anonymity had to say, but I really do miss the positive comments.
New ring from Verameat! It's like a hug for your finger :-)
P.S. I'm now a part of the creative team at Style Saint! Style Saint is like Tumblr and Pinterest's fashionable love child. I really do prefer it because now I don't have to go through pages of irrelevant stuff, it's all just fashion and beauty. Make an account and subscribe!

Originally, I was going to wear a sparkly Sherri Hill ball gown altered to tea length but apparently Sherri Hill gowns take two months to make and it wouldn't have been ready in time. I know I wanted to do something different though. The long dress with the chandelier earrings and heels isn't really my thing. So I stayed true to myself and bought an All Saints dress. I literally searched hours and hours to find something interesting. I fell in love with the printed chiffon, subtle sequins, and frayed hem line on this dress. I paired it with some awesome earrings from Rent the Runway. I wish they had the option to buy their products because no other store had these.
I literally studded these brogues myself. I got 100 studs from studsandspikes.com, made a grid with graph paper, used a sharpie to make dots, used a piercing tool, and screwed them on. It took hours and made my fingers swell. So if you're thinking about doing a DIY like me, I don't think it's worth it unless you have a specific shoe/stud color combination you absolutely need to have. Some type of strong glue would've been easier to deal with but the studs would've probably have fallen off by the end of the night. If these were available to buy, I would've done so.
I went for a super girly Blair Waldorf-esque vibe with my headband and rossette purse and set it off with my punk-ish shoes. I'm happy with the way it all turned out because I stayed true to myself and definitely looked unique.
I did my hair and make up myself because I've always had the worst luck with hair dressers and well, MAC and Clinque make up artists at the mall do a god-awful job. My two main fears were looking like a drag queen and having those crunchy, over hair sprayed ringlets. I tend to think of high school dances as "the attack of the crunchy curls and tulle dresses".
Now I'm going to go drug myself with some anti-histamine because I have an upper respiratory infection (aka common cold) and fall into a long slumber.
P.S. 99 days from now, I will be moving into my dorm in Malibu. Oh snap.

Excuse the bizarre, irrelevant title but.. I GOT INTO USC. Spring semester 2013. I had my heart set on Pepperdine so now I don't really know what to do. USC has been my dream school for like ever though. Oh and prom is tomorrow and I'm sick-ish. So needless to say, I'M STRESSED.
Anywho, now for the outfit: I decided to bring a punk element to my floral top because this look was at the risk of becoming way too girly for my liking.
Trying to go for a new hair look with this headband, I'm kind of likin' it. Note to self, try out headbands for a new look rather than dying your hair (remember that ombre thing from a few weeks ago? Eeeek!)

Mint jumpers are the bee's knees. I just want to hang out in my mint jumper while eating Baskin Robin's mint chocolate chip ice cream and watching good cinema. That is my idea of a good time.
I was torn between this sweater and the one pictured but then I decided I liked the quality of the Zara one better. Plus the high low hem thing is getting kind of old. My closet is teeming with asymmetrical hemmed pieces, so I will continue to wear them, but I won't infest my wardrobe by buying any more of it.
Pull over and jumper style sweaters are my favorite because they're comfortable and versatile. Here, I paired mine with a dress but the possibilities are pretty much endless. This sweater would look great with cut offs, leggings on a lazy day, a pencil skirt, or a maxi skirt. Every fashionista has to have at least one pastel pull over/jumper in her closet.
How cool am I with my super hipster bowler hat? I didn't wear the hat out because hats aren't allowed at my school plus I have realized that hats are totally not my thing. I don't know why but I find them quite awkward on myself yet I own so many of them...

While ogling over silk bombers online, I realized I actually have one. I became a fan of this form of outerwear after watching Drive. Too bad I can't find an ivory bomber with a yellow scorpion at a reasonable price. I had to put a punk spin on it and what better way to do that than to pair it with a little leopard and platforms?
Only 13 more weeks until I have to make the move down to Malibu for college. How I'm going to fit my wardrobe into that jail-cell like horrid thing called a "dorm room," I do not know. But I will be posting and tweeting about the whole experience: decorating, storage, space savings tips, etc. top, mink pink at nastygal.com, $26; jacket, platforms, uo; socks, american apparel; earrings, mrkate.com
